Soup and Stir Fry Combo
Here we are again with 2 great recipes on the table up for discussion, first Prawn and Holy Basil Stir Fry and to compliment it a lovely Thai Chicken Soup.
Ok it’s confession time! .. I mention fish sauce in the chicken soup when I should have said Thai Seasoning Sauce, put it down to a senior moment!
OK great recipes both, the Thai Chicken Soup Recipe is not spicy and full of flavour and so is a great accompaniment to virtually any Thai meal, filling and it tastes even better on the second day, like all quality soups do! You have to try this recipe to understand what I’m banging on about.
The Prawn and Holy Basil Stir Fry Recipe is traditional Thai food also and you can whip it up in under 10 minutes including preparation, which is key to a good Thai stir fry.
The cooking itself, as you can see in the cooking class video is only about 2 minutes which produces succulent prawns, crunchy vegetables and a gravy that is second to none all rounded of with holy basil similar to the faintest hint of cloves.
Be careful not to confuse Holy Basil with Sweet Thai Basil which has more of an aniseed/licorice taste. Overall not too spicy so I give it 2.5 out of 5 on the spicy scale.
We’ve also added an extra video for reference any time we do a prawn recipe, Thai Prawn Preparation which shows how to deal with prawns in the authentic traditional Thai style and an alternative method.
